What is Venturing?

Venturing is a co-ed, youth led program within the BSA for older youth about building adventures with their friends.

Venturing was established in 1998 as a standalone program for youth ages 14-21. Venturing Crews specialize in adventure, leadership, and the resulting personal growth, but not all crews are the same. The focus of each crew will depend on the focus of the scouts in the unit. The adults within the Venture Crew are referred to as Advisors. Youth leadership in a Venturing Crew decides on the adventures and activities. This leads to organization and fundraising. The adult advisors in a Venturing Crew, guide and enabled youth leadership while mentoring and coaching. Scouter Stan explains Venturing in the video here.
